Call to (Local) Student Research Showcase
|
We are pleased to announce the call for submissions for the Local Student Research Showcase at CompleNet 2025, the 16th Conference on Complex Networks. CompleNet is committed to supporting the local community, and this student showcase aims to highlight and reward the best ongoing doctoral research and notable studies in complex networks from students residing in Ceará, Brazil. CompleNet again demonstrates its desire for inclusivity across the entire event.
Submissions will be evaluated based on their scientific and technological contributions, as well as their potential to advance the state of the art in Complex Networks and related applications. Please note that only submissions from candidates studying in Ceará, Brazil, will be considered, in order to promote research within the region. Students whose work is selected will have their registration fees waived and may participate in all conference activities, except for the conference dinner. To underscore the high-quality research being conducted in Ceará and to encourage broad community engagement, the 2025 Local Student Showcase features an innovative competition. This involves a simplified submission process, an online selection phase, and a culminating session at CompleNet 2025 where selected works will be presented. The committee will select the winning submission, and the winner will receive a (non-monetary) prize. We will also have 2 honourable mentions prizes. Criteria for Selection Relevance: Submissions must focus on topics within the broad scope of network science / complex network. Novelty: Research should offer significant scientific contributions and showcase pioneering discoveries or innovative ideas. Presentation Format If accepted, submissions will be presented orally at the conference. Presenters will have 10 minutes (maximum) to share their work without questions. Presentations must be in English. This format provides a dynamic platform for researchers to share findings, gain insights, and engage with the network science community, while gaining experience to present in an international / plenary format. There will be plenty of time for students to engage with participants during the event. Submission Guidelines Maximum of 2 pages (US Letter or DIN-A4, 1-inch margins, 12-point font, single-spaced). The submission must include one figure, and should be submitted in PDF format. Submissions should be done using the Google form: https://forms.gle/oCGqvwLApjJrEFm49 Important dates
